“Lot of mistakes but we have to improve” – Gernot Rohr on Seychelles win

Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr insisted there are lot of mistakes to improve on despite a comfortable 3-1 win against Seychelles.

Odion Ighalo open the lead for the Super Eagle from the spot kick, before seen his goal cancelled by Rody melanie equalizer following Francis Uzoho’s blunder.

Henry Onyekuru and Moses Simeon win the game for the Super eagles of Nigeria at Stephen Keshi’s stadium in the second half.

The win which see Nigeria fly high on the top of group E with 13 points from six games, and successfully claim the ticket for Afcon Competition.

The German tactician, Gernot Rohr admitted it was a difficult challenge for his team and noted mistakes to improve on.

“We knew that it would be a difficult match because it was not the same team from Seychelles.”

“They started preparations very early in March and seven new players were invited,”

“The players knew that we have to exect a difficult match, they only defended. It was attack, defense so we tried to come in from the wings.”

Rohr continued: ” We scored the first goal through a penalty, then there was an individual mistake that can happen to anybody.”

Rohr who showed how important topping the group means said:

“In the second half, We scored two nice goals. They did the job, we wanted to win the game and finish top of the table which is very important for the Fifa ranking and ve the head f the group at Afcon.”

“A lot of mistakes still in the construction of the game we have to improve, I could see some interesting players. It was good to see everybody again after four months.” Rohr said.

Nigeria will play Egypt in a friendly match on Tuesday at Stephen Keshi’s Stadium
